Dr. Mayer-Davis is Cary C Boshamer Distinguished Professor of Nutrition and Medicine and Chair of the Department of Nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is formally trained in both nutrition and epidemiology and brings over 20 years of experience and leadership in diabetes epidemiology and clinical trials. Her work over time has involved translational research to develop, implement and evaluate interventions designed to facilitate improvement in diabetes prevention, self-management, metabolic status, and quality of life for individuals with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
