Maryam completed a master’s degree in Human Nutrition at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Iran (2013). In 2015, she commenced her doctoral studies at the School of Human Nutrition, under the supervision of Dr. Hope Weiler and Dr. Sarah Kimmins. Her doctoral thesis mainly focused on vitamin D interventions and body composition in infancy. Maryam was awarded Graduate Excellence Fellowships from McGill University, and she was selected for the Nestlé Nutrition Student and Trainee Oral Competition from the Canadian Nutrition Society, 2018, the Graduate Student Research Award from the American Society for Nutrition, 2019, and was recognized as an Emerging Leader in Nutrition Science by the American Society for Nutrition (2020, 2021&2022). Her thesis studies have been published in Nutrition Research, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, The Journal of Nutrition and BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, as well as one in Nutrients as a co-author.
