Shannon C. Conrey completed an MS in Nutritional Sciences in 2017 and a PhD in Epidemiology in 2021, both at the University of Cincinnati. She is currently working as a post-doctoral research fellow at the MILCH Lab at UC's College of Medicine Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences, a multi-disciplinary lab focused on human milk composition and early childhood nutrition epidemiology. Her research interests include socio-economic and maternal health factors that predict early childhood health and nutrition, including neighborhood environment, social determinants of health, and materal metabolic health. She has presented on these topics at national and international conferences, including ASN, PAS, ISRHML, and APHA. Her work has been published in journals related to public health, breastfeeding, and child obesity, and as a chapter in the upcoming book, Environmental Health: Poverty, Race and Child Health in the Time of COVID-19.
