I am interested in gene-nutrient interactions, particularly related to folate and iron metabolism. The projects I am currently focusing on are 1) understanding how alterations in mitochondrial de novo thymidylate biosynthesis plays a role in mitochondrial health and disease, and 2) understanding the impact iron deficiency has on metabolic pathways and physical performance.
