My research is about the effects of fish oil (EPA) on Alzheimer's disease (AD), AD is growing and irreversible neurodegenerative disease, gene, obesity, and insulin resistance can be some risk factors for AD. EPA showed promising effects against obesity and inflammation. Also, fish oil is one the highest consumed supplements in the US. We are supplementing the transgenic model of AD, both male and female, and wild-type mice as control. We supplemented them with low fat. high fat and a high-fat diet supplemented with EPA. Our result showed that a high-fat diet can cause weight and fat gain, on the other hand, EPA showed protective effects against adiposity and AD markers. With the result of this research and future investigations, we can generate recommendations for the prevention or treatment of AD.
