Ms. Stephanie Cameron-Maldonado is a senior undergraduate student at the University of Puerto Rico- Cayey campus completing a double bachelor's degree majoring in biology and psychology with a minor in multidisciplinary neuroscience. She will be starting her master's in science with a concentration in epidemiology this upcoming fall. Stephanie is passionate about science and researching to further comprehend how health is impacted by the population. Specifically, her research interests lie in mental health, minority groups, health disparities, and social inequalities. She is interested in the linkage between behavioral and psychological impacts on health inequities. Ms. Cameron's passion for public health and research drove her to collaborate on the PR-CEAL Against COVID-19 Disparities as a research assistant in an epidemiological study about the factors associated with resistance to COVID-19 vaccination on the island. For her future professional goals, she would like to pursue graduate studies in epidemiology and later complete a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in population health.
