Dr. Rebecca “Becca” Solch is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Neurology at Tulane University School of Medicine. She obtained her Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Florida where her dissertation focused on evaluating probiotics on stress-associated gastrointestinal and immune function in undergraduate university students. She has been a co-author on publications regarding probiotics and fiber on gastrointestinal function and gut microbial composition in healthy adults. During her postdoctoral fellowship, she has established a diet- and microbiota-induced model of mild cognitive impairment. Using this model she will determine the efficacy of microbiota-based preventative methods for mild cognitive impairment.
