Ste Traxler is a Ph.D student in the Kable Lab at the University of California, Davis. Her research investigates the use of honey consumption to affect changes on the small intestine microbiome, prevent infection by foodborne pathogens, and improve the health of small intestine epithelial cells. They received their B.S. in Biology at Portland State University, in Portland, Oregon. While there, they worked as a research assistant in the Napier Lab, investigating the effects of the ketogenic diet and dietary fatty acids on sepsis disease severity and mortality.
