Annabel Matison is a member of the Nutrition Society of Australia and is currently undertaking a PhD at the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing, which is part of the University of New South Wales. Her PhD explores the associations between diet, depression and genetics in older adults. Annabel has a Master of Human Nutrition from Deakin university where she published a paper on the relationship between dietary protein intake and health-related quality of life in older adults. Annabel has also published a meta-analysis with her colleagues from the University of NSW and University of Sydney looking at the longitudinal association between diet and incidence of depression in adults aged 45+ years. She will be presenting findings from her most recent work, using a twin study, to explore genetic and environmental influences on fruit and vegetable intakes and depression.
