I am a nutrition researcher with 5+ years of experience on protein quality evaluation of diets and energy requirements using stable isotope methods. An in-depth training in energy expenditure and substrate utilization measurements has helped me to address questions related to metabolic syndrome and chronic diseases. As a postdoctoral research associate, I am currently working in the areas of micronutrient supplementation, body composition and cardiometabolic health of children. My work on maternal and child health and nutrition in tribal districts of Odisha, India has provided me with the knowledge of designing and implementation of observational and intervention trials in the areas of public health nutrition. My research interests include identification of biological and dietary determinants of undernutrition in children, translation of clinical research findings into community settings and evaluating effectiveness of nutritional interventions on body composition and metabolic health biomarkers to inform supplementary nutrition programs and policy for children.
