My name is Jenna Evanchuk and I am a second year Master of Science student specializing in Nutrition and Metabolism under the supervision of Dr. Catherine Field at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. My thesis research explores the relationships between the maternal status of iron and vitamin D during the perinatal period and important maternal and offspring health outcomes, with an emphaisis on mental health in mothers and neurocognitive development in children. I've been working in Dr. Field's nutritional immunology lab for the past 4 years and have gained extensive technical, analytical and translational research skills related to my area. This is my first time presenting at the ASN's Annual Nutrition conference and I am thrilled for the opportunity to showcase my research and learn from other researchers!
