Visiting Scientist

Kazuko Yoshizawa is Visiting Scientist at Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. She received her doctorate from Harvard School of Public Health after receiving her master's degree from Cornell University. She studied nutritional epidemiology as a major at Harvard. Her research area focuses on dietary assessment methodology. She developed a food frequency questionnaire for a Japanese population with Professor Walter Willett at Harvard and is currently conducting a validation study on the questionnaire using the latest method. In the past, she researched the relationship between selenium and mercury and coronary heart disease and prostate cancer as an investigator of the Health Professionals Follow-Up Study, a large prospective cohort study. In addition, she has extensive experience as a WHO consultant in Asian and African countries.
