Rachel Brown is a Professor in the Department of Human Nutrition at the University of Otago. She has extensive experience conducting randomised controlled trials in a number of research specialty areas including nuts and health. She leads the Nut Research Group within the Department of Human Nutrition. This group has examined the effects of consuming nuts on health outcomes including blood lipid and lipoproteins, glycaemic response, sensory indices, inflammatory markers, endothelial function, appetite control, diet quality, body weight regulation, and energy balance.
