Katie Ellison is a registered dietitian nutritionist and second year PhD student in the Department of Nutrition Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has received numerous honors and awards including the American Society for Nutrition's Herblife Nutrition Scholarship, the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Groups's Cyndi Reeser State Coordinator of the Year Award, the Alabama Dietetic Association's Leadership Scholarship, the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship, Alabama Chapter, and the American Society for Nutrition's Emerging Leaders in Nutrition Science Abstract Recognition Award. Katie's research interests are in implementation sciences for translating obesity treatment strategies to primary care.
