Raniru S. Randunu is a final year PhD. Candidate in Nutritional Biochemistry at Memorial University, Canada. She is supervised by Dr. Robert Bertolo and is planning to graduate by the end of 2022. Her research focuses on the effects of feeding total parenteral nutrition during the neonatal period on adult chronic diseases, including the development of cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome. She has 2-year experience as a research assistant in biomedical sciences at Memorial University. Before that, she earned an MSc in Nutritional Biochemistry from Memorial University, St. John’s, Canada, under the supervision of Dr. Sukhinder Cheema. She is originally from Sri Lanka and had obtained a BVSc. from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.
