Assistant Professor
University of Pittsburgh
My name is Samaneh Farsijani. I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of Epidemiology at University of Pittsburgh. I am a dietitian and nutritionist with extensive interdisciplinary research background from basic biology to epidemiology. My research emphasis is on the integration of omics (i.e., gut microbiome) and non-omics (i.e., actual dietary intake) data to develop “Precision Nutrition” strategies and age-specific dietary recommendations, replacing the current one-size-fits-all approach, to promote healthy aging. My research is currently supported by the University of Pittsburgh Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center (NIA: P30AG024827)
