My work has contributed to the understanding of the short- and long-term role of environmental factors such as diet and contaminants on infant’s health. Our work is internationally recognized for its development of preclinical piglet models of health, nutrition support, and disease. We have made highly significant contributions in the areas of normal infant gastrointestinal and microbiome development and suggested nutritional strategies for the prevention and treatment of common diseases affecting infants
