Hi, my name is Dr. Maleah (Holland) Winkler and I'm an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Augusta University. My educational degrees are all related to Kinesiology. My PhD had a nutrition focus as well. I received my bachelors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, my Masters from Indiana University, and my PhD from Auburn University. I ran track and played field hockey in high school and in college until I incurred multiple concussions. After using nutrition to help reduce my concussion symptoms, I decided to study nutrition in a more in depth manner, especially in relation to cognition and stress. Therefore, my current research focuses on reducing stress-related health symptoms through exercise and nutrition in populations under stress, such as fire fighters.
