Tamirat Tafesse Walissa is the Nutrition Associate Director for the Alive & Thrive program in Ethiopia. He has over 10 years of experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring community-based and system strengthening interventions. He has extensive experience in providing nutrition trainings, designing implementation research, developing nutrition guidelines and SBC materials, and leading initiatives on nutrition mentorship and supervision. Tamirat has a master’s degree in Public Health from Wolaita Sodo University and a prospective graduate from Addis Ababa University with a master's degree in Development Studies majoring Rural Livelihood in late 2022. Tamirat earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing. As a principal and co-author, he has made contributions to the scientific community in the fields of maternal, adolescent, infant, and young child nutrition.
