Maryam Seifishahpar is a Ph.D. student in the NIOR lab mentored by Dr. Naïma Moustaid-Moussa. She received her B.S. and M.S. in Nutrition Science from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. Her M.S. research focused on "The Effects of a Multispecies Probiotic Supplement on the duration, frequency and severity of chronic migraine attacks in adults." She also worked as a Registered Dietitian (RD) for 2 years in a clinic setting counseling patients suffering from chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. Maryam joined the Tart Cherry research project which investigates the interaction of high-fat diets and supplemental tart cherry and fish oil with inflammation and gut microbiota in mice. She is mentored by Dr. Naima Moustaid-Moussa, and co-mentored by Dr. Kalhara Menikdiwea.
