John Hoddinott is the H.E. Babcock Professor of Food and Nutrition Economics and Policy, Cornell University and a Non-Resident Senior Fellow, International Food Policy Research Institute. Previously, he was a Deputy Division Director at the International Food Policy Research Institute, Washington DC, and University Lecturer in Economics and Fellow and Tutor, Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford. His research focuses on the determinants and consequences of early childhood undernutrition and the evaluation of interventions designed to reduce poverty, food insecurity and undernutrition. In 2020, he received the Bruce Gardner Memorial Prize for Applied Policy Analysis from the American Agricultural & Applied Economics Association. Born in Canada, he has a BA in Economics from the University of Toronto and a doctorate in economics from the University of Oxford.
