Dr. Ekamol Tantisattamo received his medical degree from Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, Honolulu, Hawaii and fellowship in nephrology at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia. He then extended his one-year training in transplant nephrology fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Chicago, Illinois. He also received Master of Public Health degree from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, Maryland.
After he finished his training, he started working as a transplant nephrologist at the Multi-Organ Transplant Center, William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan for 2.5 years. He then joined UCI faculty in November 2017 and works as both nephrologist at the Division of Nephrology, Hypertension and Kidney Transplantation and as a transplant nephrologist with the Division of Transplantation, University of California Irvine School of Medicine.
Dr. Tantisattamo is interested in epidemiology research related to hypertension and cardiovascular outcomes as well as metabolic changes and obesity in kidney and pancreas transplant recipients and living kidney donors.
