Britney is a 2nd year PhD student in Health Behavior with a minor in Nutrition Science. She is a registered nurse that works full time as a Clinical Assistant Professor with IU School of Nursing in Bloomington, Indiana. After earning her BSN from Arkansas State University, Britney began her nursing career on Medical Surgical and Acute Rehabilitation Units. While earning her MBA and MSN from Indiana Wesleyan University, she transitioned into an Orthopedic Program Coordinator role. In this role, Britney’s work was focused on quality of care and patient and caregiver education. She later began a leadership position with the perioperative team. After over10 years of hospital experience, she transitioned into a career with academia. Britney enjoys relationship building, creating healthy working environments, helping others grow professionally, and instilling the passion of excellent and high quality patient care into her nursing practice. Her 13+ years of experience as a nurse has given her a passion to collaborate with many other disciplines to have a positive impact on public health. Her research focus is on improving preventative care with an emphasis on type 2 diabetes. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three sons.
