Professor Frongillo conducts research globally to learn how to improve the growth, development, feeding, care, and survival of infants and young children. He leads research on the measurement, determinants, and consequences of household and child food insecurity, conducting research with colleagues and students giving voice to the experiences of food insecurity by children. His research program also aims to understand how to advance policy and programs for improving nutrition and development. He has expertise in validation of measures, policy and program evaluation, and design and analysis of longitudinal studies. He teaches a doctoral course on evaluation and seminar sessions on scientific writing. He is a member of the board of directors of the American Society for Nutrition and the Society for Implementation Science in Nutrition and is co-chair for the Technical Expert Advisory Group on Nutrition Monitoring for the World Health Organization and United Nations Children’s Fund.
