Keith West is the George G. Graham Professor of Infant and Child Nutrition in the Departments of International Health in the Bloomberg School of Public Health and Ophthalmology in the School of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. West is a Registered Dietitian, completing his Dietetic Internship at Walter Reed General Hospital in Washington DC. Early in his career he served as a US Army dietitian based at Ft. Dix, NJ, on Okinawa, Japan and in the Division of Preventive Medicine in the Office of the US Army Surgeon General. He earned his Masters’ and Doctoral Degrees in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins. Dr. West has worked extensively in Bangladesh, Nepal and Indonesia as well as in Malawi and Zambia conducting collaborative research to assess and prevent health consequences of vitamin A and other micronutrient deficiencies in children and women. Prof. West has authored over 270 scientific papers. He is a Class of 2020 Fellow in the American Society of Nutrition and is presently serving as Director At-Large for Global Nutrition with the American Society of Nutrition.
