This September the White House will hold a Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health. ASN plans to submit policy recommendations to the White House to help shape the conference and the actions that result from the conference. The original White House Conference on Nutrition was held 53 years ago and significantly impacted federal policies that shaped the nutrition, health, and wellbeing of Americans. This 2022 conference has the same opportunity to profoundly impact the future health of our nation by improving nutrition security and diet-related disease prevention. Nutrition science has evolved considerably since 1969, and so too have our nation’s food, nutrition, health, and hunger challenges. Join ASN for a dialogue session and make your voice heard at this pivotal time for nutrition! Hear from dynamic leaders in nutrition influencing the areas that the Conference will focus on the most: nutrition security, nutrition-related prevention of chronic diseases, and ending hunger. And then we want to hear from ASN members!
Join us at this important session and share your feedback and help to shape ASN’s policy recommendations to share with the White House and federal agencies prior to the event. We welcome your suggestions on policy recommendations that ASN should consider to be addressed at the Conference and for policy action after the event to advance nutrition and end hunger.
