Dr. Morrison Ponce completed her Emergency Medicine residency in Boston, MA at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency (HAEMR) training at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. Additionally, she served as Chief Resident in her final year. In 2015, she transitioned to active duty in the US Navy and reported to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP). She assumed the responsibilities of Assistant Program Director and Clerkship Director, coordinating training of the rotating medical students and emergency medicine interns. She deployed with the USNS COMFORT to provide medical relief to Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria in 2017. Following that tour, she completed a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan. She is currently the Associate Program Director at the EM Residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.
Lieutenant Commander Morrison Ponce is board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She holds an appointment as Assistant Professor of Military and Emergency Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Her awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (two) and the Humanitarian Service Medal.
