Carlo Lutz, MD is the Research Fellow for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center / Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Lutz has a longstanding interest in quality improvement and high-value care, with previous work investigating the overuse of telemetry. Currently his focus is on medical informatics, and the role of mobile platform-based interventions in providing guideline-based asthma education to improve the transition of care from the emergency department to community settings.
Dr. Lutz is board certified in Emergency Medicine and is a teaching attending at Montefiore Medical Center. He graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Inequality Studies. He received his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he was a Human Rights and Social Justice Scholar. He is currently the Montefiore Emergency Department’s Research Fellow and participates in the Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Clinical Research Training Program, after which he will be conferred a Master’s in Clinical Research. Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Lutz was Chief Resident at Jacobi Medical Center/Montefiore Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency Program.
