Rachael Collman is a Registered Nurse working at Indiana University Health Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center. She started her research career shortly after graduating from Knox College with a BA in Biology. She studied schizophrenia and traumatic brain injuries on a molecular level in the Neuroscience and Psychiatry Lab at the University of Cincinnati. After moving to Indianapolis, she continued her research career with Indiana University School of Medicine as a Clinical Research Specialist. While with IU-SOM she assisted Dr. Paul Musey with multiple studies exploring anxiety associated with low risk chest pain; the longitudinal aftermath of traumatic experiences on the mind and body; among others. During this time Rachael developed a desire to move bedside to work more directly with patients. She graduated from the University of Indianapolis with her BSN in 2020, and has since become a bedside nurse taking care of some of the sickest patients in the state. She hopes to continue utilizing research and evidence based practice to excel as a health care provider while providing holistic and compassionate care to her patients.
