Kristen Donaldson, MD, MPH is an assistant professor of Emergency Medicine at Stritch School of Medicine and practices clinically as a full-time Emergency Physician in Loyola’s Level 1 Trauma Center in Maywood, IL. She has been recognized as a top educator at Loyola, receiving the Emergency Medicine Residency’s Outstanding Teaching Faculty Award and the Stritch School of Medicine's Wolfe & Kettle Award for the Top 10% of clinical educators. Prior to medicine, she studied Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago and worked for many years as a business strategy consultant in Health and Life Sciences industry. Her early public health work addressed education on drugs and alcohol, interpersonal violence, and sexual health. She then began to focus on youth violence and more specifically gun violence and the prevention of trauma recidivism. She serves as a member of the Loyola Stands multi-disciplinary committee that focuses on violence prevention efforts within Loyola and surrounding community, and has served on the Clinical Steering Committee for the design of a Trauma Recovery Center to provide trauma informed care to victims of all violence. She is a dedicated doctor, educator, and advocate. She is also the mother of three young children, a seeker of adventures, an occasional crafter and someone that looks forward to when she can curl up solo with a good book again.
