Garrett Thompson, MPH is a second year medical student at the Pennlysvannia State University College of Medicine. He graduated with a BS in biochemistry from the University of New Hampshire in 2016. Subsequently he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and pursued a Master of Public Health with a specialization in health services research from the University of Sheffield, in Sheffield England. He has worked in emergency/critical care research with a focus on resuscitation at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School prior to matriculating and has over 8 years experience as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician. He is passionate about public health and has led several community wide iniaitives aimed at reaching underserved populations. He is involved in medical education with experience delivering EMS education and developing health systems curricula at the medical student level. His previously published work ranges from biosensors, prehospital emergency medicine, critical care, to chronic pain. His current research interests include health systems and emergency/critical care clinical database studies. He plans to purse a career in emergency medicine/crtical care.
