Smitha Bhaumik, MD is a fourth year resident physician in the Denver Health Residency in Emergency Medicine. She has an interest in global EM research with a focus on trauma and cardiovascular disease outcomes. She is a graduate of Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. She has previously served as a Fogarty Global Health Scholar in India studying tobacco cessation after acute coronary syndrome. She will be pursuing a research fellowship with the University of Colorado Department of Emergency Medicine under the mentorship of Dr. Nee-Kofi Mould-Millman and Dr. Adit Ginde, studying trauma epidemiology in low and middle income settings.
