I finished a combined training program in emergency medicine and pediatrics. I served as chief resident my last two years of training. I now practice in an academic setting, predominantly pediatric emergency medicine with complimentary time in the adult emergency department. My research interest includes adult and pediatric emergency airway management. I help maintain and use an ongoing airway registry to conduct emergency airway research. It is one of the largest single center airway registries in emergency medicine. I also enjoy organizing and presenting an annual airway curriculum to the categorical emergency medicine and combined emergency medicine and pediatric residents. The curriculum includes didactics, hands on simulation with advanced airway equipment and high fidelity airway simulation. This past year the residents awarded me for being the top faculty in academics (award). I serve as associate program director to both the categorical emergency medicine and combined emergency medicine and pediatric residency programs. In addition to significant airway research, I also serve as the emergency medicine liaison to the trauma surgery department at my institution.
