Associate Medical Director, Emergency Care Center; Medical Director, CDU
Emory University
Decatur, Georgia, United States
I grew up in Southeast Michigan and went to Undergraduate at the University of Michigan. I did medical school at Wayne State University, graduating in 2003. I matched Emergency Medicine residency at Emory University. I was named chief resident for the 2005-2006 academic year.
Following residency, I joined the faculty at Emory as an assistant professor. I worked clinically at Emory University Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital. In 2009, I became the medical director of the Clinical Decision Unit (ED observation Unit) at Grady, learning the science and practice of observation medicine from Dr. Michael Ross. This allowed me to collaborate on research and clinical projects such as the STEMI and stroke teams at Grady.
In 2015, I was named Assistant Medical Director of the ED at Grady and promoted to Associate medical director in 2017. I am heavily involved in ED operations, observation medicine and cardiac and stroke care.
