Dr. Fernandez graduated residency from the University of Cincinnati in 2003. She is currently an Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida. Dr. Fernandez has expertise in both medical education research and healthcare team performance research. She has focused much of her work on using simulation to understand and improve resuscitation processes for both in-hospital and out-of-hospital emergencies. Dr. Fernandez has been a Principal Investigator on investigator-initiated grants funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Department of Defense, and the State of Washington.
