Lauren Page Black, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville. She completed her undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University. She earned her Medical Degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine and her Master’s in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at UF Jacksonville where she was Chief Resident, followed by a fellowship in Emergency and Acute Care Research. Her research interests are in using data science and large clinical databases to improve the care of patients with sepsis and other emergent critical illnesses. She is funded by a K23 Award from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences. She was previously funded by a KL2 from the National Institute of Health National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband, Weston, their newborn, Grey, and their dog, Chase.
