Edward Castillo, PhD, MPH, is a Professor with the University of California, San Diego Department of Emergency Medicine. Prior to joining the Emergency Medicine faculty, he served as an Epidemiologist with the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, Division of Emergency Medical Services and a Research Scientist with the Institute for Public Health at San Diego State University. Dr. Castillo’s research interests include healthcare utilization, health informatics and law enforcement use of force and he is the Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine Research Associate Program. He is a Statistical Editor for the Journal of Emergency Medicine, a statistical reviewer for Academic Emergency Medicine and reviews articles from several Emergency Medicine and Public Health journals.
