Dr. Richard M Nowak has been an academic Emergency Medicine physician at the Henry Ford Health System main hospital campus Emergency Department since 1975. During his career at the Henry Ford Health System he has been involved in the development of the specialty of Emergency Medicine at the local, national and international level. He is currently a clinical professor of Emergency Medicine at both the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan and the Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. His research interests are acute cardiovascular and critical care medicine diagnostic and therapeutic studies/interventions in the specialty of Emergency Medicine. He has authored/ coauthored 238 original peer reviewed publications to date and remains active conducting clinical trials in the Emergency Department. He continues to present original papers at scientific meetings and to deliver lectures all over the world.
