Emily Anderson, BS, is a fourth year medical student at Boston University School of Medicine. Originally from Seattle, she attended the University of Washington for undergrad, where she graduated with honors in microbiology and global health. Her academic interests lie in social determinants of health and advocacy, with a particular interest in caring for Latinx populations. Her recent research has focused on implementing and evaluating social needs screening and referral programs within the Emergency Department, leveraging ED visits to help patients connect with needed resources like housing and food.
