Dr. Venkatesh is an Associate Professor and Chief of the Section of Administration in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Yale University. He has received over $ 9 million in funding by the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA), CMS, AHRQ, and several foundations to study and develop measures and interventions that impro acute care outcomes and efficiency with a particular focus on opioid use disorder. He is Principal Investigator of the ACEP Emergency Quality Network (E-QUAL) and leads the development of the CMS Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings. His work has resulted in over 150 peer-reviewed publications, the implementation of numerous national healthcare quality and value programs.
