Kayla Carpenter is a sophomore at Hope College in Holland, Michigan majoring in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Spanish. When she’s not in five hour long Organic Chemistry labs, Kayla plays Division III basketball for the Flying Dutch, tutors for TRIO’s Upward Bound program, and runs the Instagram account Humans of Holland (@humans_of_holland). Kayla is from St. Louis, Missouri where her favorite pastime is spending time with her yellow labrador retriever Spencer. Kayla hopes to attend medical school after graduating in 2024. While she’s interested in Emergency Medicine, she doesn't know for sure what field she wants to go into. She does know that she wants to help people and help expand the knowledge in her field through research.
