Priyanka Amin, MD, is an attending psychiatrist at UPMC Western’s Psychiatric Emergency Services, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh, and Medical Director of Patient Safety for UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital. She received her BS from Duke University and her MD from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed psychiatry residency training at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital, participating in the Academic Administrator Clinician Educator (AACE) track and the Women’s Mental Health Area of Concentration and serving as the first Chief Resident of Well-Being. Dr. Amin is passionate about patient safety, quality improvement, and well-being, and her clinical interests include violence, trauma, and agitation. She has been an active member of the UPMC CISM ASAP Staff Support Team and a volunteer and trainer for UPMC’s Physicians for Physicians Program. She also serves on UPMC GME committees involving wellbeing as well as quality and safety. Within the Department of Psychiatry, she serves as a faculty mentor for the Patient Safety Quality Improvement Resident Representative(s) and Chief Resident for Well-Being.
