Jim's emergency response experience spans over 30-years with the volunteer fire service. He is a member of the Somerset VFD and Somerset County Hazmat Team. His full-time eloyment is a Loss Control Consultant for a regional property and casualty insurance company.
He also has over 20-years as a Suppression Level Instructor for the Pennsylvania State Local Training Program with a focus on hazardous materials courses. He is a Certified Fire Officer III, Instructor II, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Vehicle Rescue Technician. He holds the designation of Certified Safety Professional (CSP) through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
His formal education includes an A.S. in Fire Science and Administration from Community College of Allegheny County, a B.S. in Safety and Environmental Management from Slippery Rock University, and a M.S. Safety Sciences – Technical from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
