I was on the job for 24 years retiring as a Special Operations BC. I was also a sworn Law Enforcement Officer for 18 years and Paramedic for 16 years. I am currently a Professor in the Emergency Services Department, College of Health and Public Service at Utah Valley University (UVU). I am currently the Director of the Firefighter Recruit Candidate Academy at UVU. I am a frequent SME and course developer for the National Fire Academy. I am a NFA EFO Graduate and hold a Masters Degree in Education from Utah State University. I am a member of the NFPA 470 technical Committee. My expertise has been in Hazardous Materials Response and Management for most of my career.
