Jason “Bear” Wilson is a Captain on the Hazardous Materials Response Team at the Houston Fire Department and a Reserve Deputy at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Wilson is a 28+ year Public Safety/Incident Management professional with 28 years of Fire/EMS and 9 years of Law Enforcement experience. Wilson is a Doctoral Student in the Department of Educational Administration & Human Resource Development at Texas A&M University. His academic interests include Training and Development, Human Capital, Adult Education, Leadership, Organization Development, Firefighter and Law Enforcement safety and survival. During Wilson’s 28-year firefighting career, he spent 15 years as a Logistics Specialist on FEMA/Texas Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue team. In 2006, Wilson received the Firefighter of the Year award for his service during Hurricane Katrina rescue and recovery efforts. He received the Medal of Valor for his service at the World Trade Center after the September 11 terrorist attacks.
