Rodney Janczak has over 25 years of police and fire experience. Rodney began his career in the fire service in 1997 with the Cy-Fair Fire Department, which is a combination department located on the outskirts of Houston, Texas. In 2001, Rodney went to work for the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office (HCFMO) in Texas as an Arson Investigator and continues to work there as a Lieutenant for the Emergency Operations Division. In addition to working with the HCFMO, Rodney worked as an Assistant Chief for the Cy-Fair Fire Department until 2019 and oversaw the Prevention, Education & Administration Divisions. Rodney has been an Adjunct Professor for Lone Star College since 2005 where he provides instruction for various arson and fire related courses. His education consists of a Master of Science degree from Sam Houston State University in Criminal Justice - Management & Leadership, a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice - Political Science from the University of Houston and an Associate degree in Fire Science from North Harris Montgomery Community College. In his continuance of education, he accepted the opportunity to study at Texas A&M in pursuant of a Doctoral Degree in Human Resource and Organizational Development where he is currently in the process of completing his dissertation. He is recognized as a Master Peace Officer in the State of Texas and holds master certifications in firefighting, arson investigation, inspections, hazmat, and instructor through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. Rodney is a member of various organizations including the International Association of Fire Chiefs, where he is recognized as a Chief Fire Officer (CFO), International Society of Fire Service Instructors, and the Society for Human Resource Management where he holds a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM- SCP) certification.
