Dr. Chris Weber is a Field Forensic Applications Scientist for 908 Devices in Boston, Massachusetts. He holds a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Biological Chemistry from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor where he studied the metabolism of Bacillus subtilis using macromolecular crystallography. He has been training emergency responders for over twenty years for a variety of agencies. His past experience includes serving on the Washtenaw County (Michigan) Hazardous Materials Response Team for more than a decade in positions that include hazmat technician, training officer and deputy director. He has also served as a subject matter expert with the Longmont (Colorado) Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials Response Team. He has been a firefighter for more than 30 years and is currently a member of the Hygiene (Colorado) Volunteer Fire Department. Chris has authored the following books: Pocket Reference for Hazardous Materials Response; Hazardous Materials Operations (textbook); and Hazardous Materials Technician (textbook) and is a regular speaker at emergency response conferences around the world.
