Cris Aguirre is the co-founder of HazMatIQ, a revolutionary patented training program that delivers easy to understand and impossible to forget Hazardous Materials/WMD training to emergency responders world-wide. Before HazMatIQ, Cris devoted 35 years to emergency response for Miami Dade Fire and Rescue; an all-hazards response fire and rescue department. Throughout those 35 years, Cris worked as a Firefighter, before being promoted to Lieutenant of this all-hazards response team. During his career, the training of fire and rescue personnel in the field of Hazardous Materials became his passion. Since, he has become a nationally respected Hazardous Materials instructor and keynote speaker.
Cris served on Florida Task Force 1, a FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Team as a Hazardous Materials Specialist. As a HazMat Specialist he responded to national and international disasters. His ability to speak fluent Spanish has assisted in communication with non-English speaking victims of these disasters. He has trained personnel in many Spanish-speaking Central and South American nations. Cris is a member of the United Nationals World Health Organization Chemical Safety Program to Developing Nations and is also a member of the Latin American Hazardous Materials instructors.
In 2020, Cris developed and founded BioTechIQ, a new risk-based response training program for Biological Agents.
