Dr Nancy Brown is the Community Preparedness Program Manager for the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management. This position is focused on increasing preparedness for individuals, families, business, and neighborhoods countywide. Nancy's work has been published in a number of academic journals, including the International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and the Australasian Journal of Disaster and Trauma Studies. Her long-term objects include continued development of pragmatic ways to build disaster resilience that engages collaboration of communities and businesses in a systemic way - resulting in a culture of resilience.
