Carmen is a national collegiate clinical educator of APNP students at the multi state, multi center telepsychiatric company she founded and runs, Alay Psychiatry. Students throughout the nation have come on-site, as well as those who come via telepsyiatry, to learn from her about innovative, wholistic care in the psychiatry and addiction arenas in healthcare while serving in underserved markets. With her innovative business acumen, she has commanded the attention of innovative market leaders in health care and healthcare education.
Carmen has two post graduate certifications, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and a Certificate in Nurse Midwifery.
With her Master of Science in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University from Cleveland, OH in 1998, Carmen's strong base of evidenced based education was formed. Carmen pursued her first postgraduate population foci as a nurse-midwife at Frontier University in Hyden, KY in 1997. Her undergraduate studies, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, was from St. Joseph College of Nursing at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL, and Associate of Applied Science in Nuclear Medicine was from Triton College in River Grove, IL, all further solidifying Carmen's health care insights. Nineteen years after her first NP post graduate certification, Carmen returned for a second post-graduate Nurse Practitioner certification with the population focui as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - Lifespan (PMHNP), granted from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH in 2016.
